Isn't this REALLY an all-night tasting, with food being placed out at 7:30 to begin soaking up the alcohol? Razz

Have fun all. Wishing we could be there. Would love to see notes- or at least what was consumed.

My money is on Scotty Mac to not only taste every wine, but to take some notes as well. They may never be seen, but I'm confident it will happen.

I love this producer, and this is a wonderful wine.
What vintage was last night's bottle?

Fantastic kick-off to the weekend. Thanks so much for hosting and organizing, Paul & Stef.

The Stefania tasting was fascinating. I thought the '06s were showing quite well. The '05 Syrah is getting downright Rhonish (yum!). My fave was the '07 Pinot Noir - really a great wine and on Paul's first stab at the varietal. Pretty incredible!

The room at Fleming's was one of the best we've had for an off-line. Great view of Medinah Temple (now Bloomies) and private. Food was good, too.

I picked the KK Small Lot as my favorite in the blind tasting, nosing out the KK Estate and Pine Ridge (which was a close 2nd place in group voting). But my WOTN was the non-blinded Ridge Monte Bello that circulated in the next flight. Only disappointment of the night was a corked '97 Insignia Mad

My verdict on the '99s is that a good deal of structure remains intact and this framework is more noticeable than the fruit right now. I think they are still a few years away from peaking, for the most part. The KK Small Lot was in a sweet spot, though.

Great to see some old and new faces. See you all on Saturday!

Cheers,

Otis

Great kickoff to the weekend!! Thanks again to Paul for organizing this!

Flemming's was great food and atmosphere.

I picked the Rine Ridge as my WOTN with the Kathyrn Kennedy a very close second.

Loved Paul's wines and agree with Otis about the 05 Syrah. That was probably my favorite of his.

Looking forward to seeing some of you at the Cubs game and everybody else Saturday!!!

It was nice to meet everyone last night. Looking forward to tomorrow!

We require that tbird wear a helmet at west coast offlines.

Seriously.
