My husband Luke and I would be interested in joining you. It would be our first time too so if you are looking for more experienced guests, that is fine.
Thanks!

Well it looks like we have a full house, if everyone could shoot me an email for final arangements (glassware needed, directions etc.) that's be great. Below is the menu again, I'll get us started with some bubbles. Other than that feel free to bring whatever for wine. If you'd like to declare what your bringing fine, if not, no worries.

The menu once more: To start: Cured Meats, cheese and crackers/bread
Salad: Corn jicima shrimp salad
Entree: Roasted loin of lamb, with cous cous (or stuffed meatloaf, I haven't fully decided)
Dessert: Traditional ricotta pie (or chocolate cake di abruzzo)

I've finally managed to decide on one of my bottles, I'll be bringing a La Poderina Brunello di Montalcino which should go well with either of the entrees. Currently waiting to see whether JR will be switching the salad course given our current citrus crop issues to decide on my other wine.

Given my salad includes lime and avocado and that it will be post superbowl (read: guacamole!). I may change it up depending on availability.
If I change it, it won't be drastic, I'll stick with shrimp and probably add a mango puree. Either way it'll be light, and acidic be it citrus or vinegar.

OK I think I'll bring a 1999 Woodward Canyon Artist Series cabernet, and maybe a late harvest Zinfandel or a Tokaji or Sauternes depending on what's for dessert.
I know you have an account on VinoCellar - if you don't want to post your address here just PM me there. You can also reach Stefania_Wine and yhn the same way (though he's yhnx over there).

What's for dessert? I'm thinking of bringing a 1993 Disznoko Tokaj 5 puttonyos, but if you're doing the chocolate cake that's not going to pair very well.

I'm going with the chocolate cake. It's has almond and nutmeg in the flour and cornmeal based batter, and chocolate frosting. So while it's chocolate, it's not entirely chocolate.
I'll also have a cheese plate with sliced apple and pear plus a few other goodies.
