My WOTW was the 2001 Patz & Hall Pisoni, nothing like wine from a 5L! Don't you all agree!
Made it totally worth hauling that sucker 3000 miles across the country, paying the extra $$ for exceeding the allowable baggage weight, the worry, the anticipation, then when you finally see indeed it arrived in one piece! And ahhhh...the wonderful almost unbearable nothingness of the wine!
hmmm, can that be a TN-
2001 Patz & Hall Pisoni
Very light, almost clear in color. On the palate, indistuingishable and indistinct flavors of nothing.
The finish was infinite!.....or maybe I mean finite!

Thanks Otis for opening your house to true chaos. Your wife is a very brave woman!
Still don't like sliders, but thanks Tri-girl for the warning not to remove one of the pieces of bun! From what I hear; everyone says that was a smart move!

Thanks for putting up the photos, futronic and trigirl! They brought back some memories that I thought I had successfully suppressed.

PE, I was told not to remove the slider from the cardboard container, but just to eat the whole thing. Something about providing actual flavor and some nutrional roughage, though I was not listening all that closely.

Pinot Envy:

Your TN on the '01 Patz & Hall is dead-on. It's like we almost tasted the same thing. I'm sure Vino Me has a different take as he spent more time with it this weekend than anyone else.

Why don't you add some comments on the post directly above your last one? Cool

Well didn't need the pictures to know I missed a good time. Well hopefully next year.

See in the CWM in October hopefully.

Thanks VM. One of these days I'm going to make it down there for an offline.

Glad everyone enjoyed the pictures. Now I just have to see what comments VM made.

I believe the footage shot this weekend assures me invitations to future CDPs. Smile Big Grin

Just flipped through all the photos. Vino Me - thanks for all the commentary. It's not *my* fault all the married women wanted to be in pictures with me.

In all seriousness, thanks again to everyone involved with the festivities this weekend. I know a lot of hard work was involved in preparing the events, and it was definitely appreciated.

I can't help but smile and/or laugh every time I flip through the photos posted.

Looking forward to next time we can all get together.

Nice try, Seaquam. You need to work on your poseur posture. And you forgot to extend your middle finger for personal touch and authenticity. That too seriously undermined your satanic disguise.

I had already met quite a few of the attendees, but I was told that at least a couple of people were fooled into believing the name tag, grun.

One woman pinched my bum really, really hard; I'd like to believe that she was among those who thought I was Serge. (If you read this, Serge, don't be offended-- after all, imitation is the sincerest form of buggery Smile.)

Hey Tastebuddy, did you change your hair color since I saw you in California or was it just the lighting? Smile

HA! Funnnnnny! Same ole me, must of been the lighting. Maybe the excessive alcohol lit me up somewhat...

Wow, what a night, what a weekend... I want to thank Otis and Allison for hosting such an incredible night and letting us run amok in their beautiful home. And the VM's for setting up Friday - I had fun - it was so nice to relax at the game and dinner was a lovely kickoff - I only wish I'd hovered around the Billecart-Salmon long enough to see it opened.... <the Grand Dame was delicious>

I had such a great time meeting all y'all - thank you for all being so warm and welcoming.

a special shout-out to Mr. & Mrs. TLV - y'all are kindred spirits and I hope to see you very very soon.

I've been inspired and have mentioned to Mr. TB the possibility that perhaps we should diminish our own cellar, possibly a combo-party with Pyang and a few other TCF's... any takers?

Everyone: Please please please come to Napa.

Big kisses to everyone,

Michelle, Alex <Mr. TB> and Tim <TB's friend>

Tastebuddy:

The feeling is mutual. Let us know if you get back in the Chicago area and we'll diminish a few more bottles. Rest assured, when we finally make the trip to Napa, we will be knocking on your door. A West Coast CDP would be a great excuse to get out that way.

Patty and I spend a few extra days in Chicago following the CDP to do some sightseeing...just got home today.

THANK YOU's:
*Otis & Allison- Huge kudos for risking property value hosting a bunch of Wine-O's. I gotta tell ya, when we were leaving Patty called me into your dining room (where most of the food was)...YIKES!, the dining room rug looked like a herd of cattle went through Eek
You were the Hostess' with the Most'Is'
*CWM Members- Kudos to the rest of the Mafia that pitched in with more wine and food for the party.
*grossie- For arranging the 'Cattle Car' (bus).
*Vino Me & Christine- For arranging the Ball Game and the Friday evening event.

Observations:
*Patty and I were most impressed with the city as a whole. Extremely (and most suprisingly) clean, and friendly people (even the few panhandlers we came across were polite!).
It is the most bike friendly city we have ever seen...we rented bicycles Monday morning, and for two days we pedaled everywhere from our downtown B&B location.
*Was an absolute pleasure seeing old friends...and thoroughly enjoyed meeting new forumites.
*TBird really does Love everyone...that's just the kind of guy he is. TBird does have a weird palate...by the end of the evening, everything starts to taste like leather Razz
*You know when it's getting late when...Enoselsa starts telling his Catholic jokes Roll Eyes
*Don't let Seaquam pick the area you book your Hotel in.
*Pinto Envy has learned to like Cuban Cigars!
*Aaron Neville music has a strange effect on Vino Me and Christine Big Grin
*The Crazy Canucks left an impression! Cool

Finally...in the strange dept:
Monday...my wife and I are at the Navy Pier and we bump into the bman clan.
Tuesday...my wife and I are in the Field Museum, and yes...we bump into the bman clan again!
I think they were stalking us... WinkBig Grin

Well, at least from the wives and girlfriends of the CWM! Razz Big Grin

Wow, what can I say that hasn't been said already? Otis and Mrs. O are tremendous hosts, as always. Always good to see the CWM; and the new forumites we met this weekend - what a fantastic group of people. It's an honor to meet so many of you and now be able to put a face to a moniker. I look forward to seeing everyone again at a future offline. Smile

WoW! Great pics, comments and blogs from the party. Next year, I plan to be there.

I loved the pics of me at the party although I can't remember gesticulating so rudely so often...

Message to Futronic: I think you must have been deprived of attention as a child. I also know a company in Montreal that would LOVE to have you as a model any time you feel up to it.

I still need to figure out a date for the Third Annual TCF Magnum Party, may have to put it off until early next year instead of the November/December time frame.

No you don't, but I understand there's an option to claim "wine dependents" on your tax return. Razz
