Dale,

I think we can develop a wine list. I have been thinking about doing a post mortmen Tim Mondavi Mondavi Reseve cab vertical--93-94-95 or a Mouton Rothchild vertical 2000-2001.

I was also thinking about splitting champagne if the group is small---A 1988 Krug would work.

Dokta and Bman are you available?

Thomas:

that sounds great and I am in for whatever you decide is best. Heck, since I sourced the mouton, I can still bring that.

The Krug sounds wonderful and if we need to find a few other couples/people, I have several that would be interested so lets discuss as we get closer to 4/21.

Unfortunately, there is very little chance that I'll be in the area until the last week of June, but it's a pretty sure bet that I'll be there then.

gman and Tusknchef (aka Vince) would likely be up for it, but are very infrequent visitors here. You may wish to contact them privately though.

bman- we will definitely save time for you and our heralded high end shiraz offline for the summer when you get here. There are still bottles that are burning holes in my cellar that I want to try and am searching for excuses to pop.

I think an Aussie-themed offline, or at least a Southern Hemisphere theme, would be a wonderful thing! Cool

At the moment, June 30 is probably the best bet for us, but that could change.

bman- unfortunately/fortunately, I just found out that I am going to be getting on a plane the morning of the 30th to head to the east coast (cape cod). I could do a 29th or anytime that week leading up.

Thomas - as we are one month away from the 21st, we might want to try and set a group if you have not done that yet. Also, my wife scheduled my 5 year old son's birthday party that day from 3-530pm. Could we do a little bit later dinner (7ish?). if not, no big deal, as I can try and join the evening as going.

As to wines, I will still plan on bringing the '89 Mouton for sure, and for my second bottle, I am thinking... need some help here to fill in the bottle. I have a 2001 mondavi reserve if you opened up the vertical slightly.

I await your leadership and direction.

Thomas et al.

After all this time and planning (and when setting April 24, 2007 in November of last year who would have ever thought you could have a conflict), I cannot make this Saturday. This ended up being the only day that we could book for my son's birthday gathering and we will not be done until about 7pm.

I hope that all have a great time and, for the record, I do still have the 89 Mouton that we purchased for this original event and will hopefully be able to bring it to the next one.

So how was dinner?

More importantly, how was the Krug?

The dinner was epic.

Only three attendees so we asked Angela to improvise.

Seven course later we were even more impressed with her skill than before.

The champagne was as good as I have had.

Switched to Brunello and Barolo for dinner.

I missed you all.

Sounds great. I'm sure the attendees had a great time. Perhaps we can organize something later in the summer.

My regrets gang. I was laying low. Mrs. Napacat and I are expecting our second Napa Kitten in October and I just did not want to go without her (again). I also did not want to make any announcements as it was early. But we just found out that our baby is a girl, and so far 4 months in, all proceeding well.

Hopefully if we can do this late fall, or early next year, we will be in.

I just noticed this thread.

We have a pretty solid core of afficianados up here in Saginaw, a few of which (including myself) might be interested in a serious tasting event. I will keep my eye on this forum.

There is one "forumite" (69LaFite) in your area that has been missing in action since the tasting we had with Slapshot a couple of years back. Is this you? Cool
