Don't think I will say no to our good friend from Michigan Thomas. Let's up the seating to 8 and we are now officially FULL.
DoktaP & Slan, can you guys confirm attendance yet? |

Well you guys had much better luck with your first growth concept. I bought an 89 Mouton for ours but it (the offline) didn't pan out.
Hopefully the notes from yours will be so great that the concept for down here will restart and we can try to pull it off in Windsor. Have fun. Dale Drink wine, and you will sleep well. Dale, fyi, I'm still IN for the 89 and 82 1st Growth offline if you guys wanna do it again maybe next year. I'm sure some TWCs would be interested as well. But in the meantime, you can send your bottle of 89 Mouton with Thomas and we will sure give you a full report and tell you if it worths the money..... |

aav28 - bummer about Thomas not going, I was about to consign my bottle to him.
Maybe we can try to set this up again down here in late fall/winter. I truly would like to experience a night a first growths, especially aged ones, which I really have no experience with, and will hold my 89 Mouton until we can set something up. Have fun, Dale Drink wine, and you will sleep well. Sleep, and you will not sin. Avoid sin, and you will be saved. Ergo, drink wine and be saved. Medieval German Saying |

I would be interested in helping set it up if we had a couple of co-host to work with me.

I believe (hope) that Thomas was/is saying that he would be willing to help - co-coordinate our 82/89 event down here in the Detroit/Windsor Area in the late fall/early winter time. I am more than happy to help with the set up duties, but would really like to be able to taste the fruits of my labor.

I may be down that way around our November 11 holiday, and/or between Christmas and New Years, but sadly, I have no bordeaux older than 2000....
The only stuff I have from the 80s is port. ------------------- Go Bruins!! Go Tigers!! Go Pistons!! Go Lions!! |

bman - i am sure that we can find a way to get you an invite.
I will check with Thomas over the next month or so and see if we can come up with a date and then see if I can take some of the burden off of him for setting this up and see what we can do. Sorry to the TWC for semi-hijacking the thread, but we will make sure that you all have an invitation as well. Dale Drink wine, and you will sleep well. Sleep, and you will not sin. I'm going to have to pass on this event, unfortunately. It turns out it falls during the film festival and my wife and I will be at a screening. I'm sure it will be a great event, though, and I look forward to hearing all about it.

I've been trying to reach wineguyinTo since this thread was posted, till now he still cannot be reached as he might still be out of town, I believe we might have to switch venue. Will keep everybody posted once new venue is confirmed.

I think I might have to duck out of this since I'll be in Kingston for the afternoon visiting my boys and watching rugby. It'll be a stretch getting back for 7:00pm since we'll probably want to dine locally with the entire family.
I knew this going in, but thought I could talk Mrs. DP into leaving early. Premature exits are not something to be taken lightly at my age! |

Okay, if it has to be, if you guys want to shoot down Windsor, I would be happy to cross the border and throw my 89 Mouton into the mix. We might even get one or two more down here.
that is how nice and generous I am feeling, offering for you all to drive 4 hours down to see us and drink! Dale Drink wine, and you will sleep well. Sleep, and you will not sin. Avoid sin, and you will be saved. Ergo, drink wine and be saved. Medieval German Saying |

Hey Dale,
I have a better idea. How's about you shoot over to your local UPS/Fed Ex location tomorrow and throw the 89 Mouton into a container marked "Olive Oil". We will be sure to post a tasting note on your behalf |

hmmm, the dog ate my car keys, I couldn't find the right box, I am allergic to olive oil...
sorry, too many reasons why that is just not going to happen!!! someday, somehow, we will make this event work where I can taste all (well, a couple/few) great first growths. The good news, I guess, is that I don't have to worry about my bottle having a short term window for drinking! Have a great time tomorrow night and when we plan our little event down here in Windsor in the fall, hopefully you all from up north can make it down as well. Dale, I'm holding on to my 89 Latour & Margaux for the event. Let's hope we can do it next year.
