Either date works for me although I lean slightly towards the 6th only because I have a 4-5 day business trip the weekend after the 13th so it would give me a little extra time at home and in the office between. Either is doable though at this point. As always, don't plan around my schedule. Schedule it and I'll come if I can.

I can't speak for PURPLE. Don't know her schedule.

That actually makes things *worse*. Trying to get hotel and restaurant reservations is going to be a disaster.

Futronic is right. Getting a hotel will be difficult during the festival. Affording one will be even worse and many venues will be taken by the visitors.

Now, June I can probably make. Like wiml, I can not make Italy because of the dates. Can't leave my teen aged daughter alone for a week or two -- or maybe that is won't leave my teen aged daughter alone for a week.

If I had to choose between Toronto and Montreal, I would choose Toronto this time. I had the great pleasure of offlining with the Montreal bunch last July so it is Toronto's turn.

Futronic,

Seeing as this may be taking place in Toronto, should we start dressing up list of attendees?

Mimik,

I think you're confusing this offline with the Pride parade. You'll have to come back later in the summer for that.

In all seriousness, I'll put something together later tonight with tentative lists and dates and etc etc.

Aren't you getting tickets for us for that event?

Thanks for kicking off the list, Fut.

I imagine that steve8 and a few others will want to trip over to T town also, as well as some of the wives/g'friends. However, this will shake out over the near term.

Just posting this mostly as a 'heads up' to those that might want to go, to give these things some thought sooner rather than later.

Hi Fut,

Can you pull me from the lineup please? Can't commit at this point, maybe as it gets closer. Smile

Looks like we are out, unless JC's rial gets moved. (If it does, I will jump back in for sure!)

Not afraid... just do not have any clients in Canada. Plus, always a chance the trial gets moved.

Someday I'm going to join you good people for the Annual Italian Off-line, but once again I have commitments the weekend of the 6th which will prevent me from participating. Frown Someday.

So what happens to those of us from South of the border when we try to bring our wine in?

It looks like I'll be okay for the 6th. The 13th should be ruled out because of the ridiculous number of things going on in the city. So let's proceed with June 6th for planning purposes.

PlanoWino: I'll send around an email later about what to do with customs. If you bring a few bottles and bat your lashes at customs I doubt they'll have much of an issue. Don't say it's a gift, you're having dinner with friends.

That's it.

I have been following this one for a few days now, and have been trying to figure out a way to do both (Montalcino and Toronto). As much as I would love to be there, I'm afraid it won't happen this time.

Maybe we can think of a nice way of connecting the events trough the ones that will attend both of them?

It has been two weeks since the last post. Is this thing on and if so is June 6 the date? If it is, I need to see if I can find affordable air and hotel. Things are tight down here. I am sure our Northern neighbors are still standing in high cotton but no so much here.
