A Delmarva RV...hmmmm...seems like a "funniest thread ever" in the making. Pencil me in pending extensive negotiations.

Let me know how your "negotiations" go, as I may call you in as a ringer to mine Wink

OK, I'll be the first to broach the subject.

Doesn't it seem a little "odd" for lack of a better term to be planning an Italian offline in lieu of the "official" Italian offline that most dropped out of after planning it? Confused

Oh, btw, like the other one I had all intentions of attending but couldn't make because of the dates...ditto here. Depends on the dates whether I could do it or not.

I can understand where you're coming from Joe. Maybe we can consider this as a more cost-effective Italian offline? Flying to Toronto is cheaper than flying to Italy (except for Jochems), and it's more justifiable to stay here for a weekend than Italy for the same durations. Besides, after three days the locals get restless and want you out anyway. Razz

Perhaps I could entice everyone to consider beautiful and scenic Winston-Salem, NC. Here, we have loads of cigarettes, Krispy Kreme doughnuts, and even a building shaped like a phallus. You all could still have one heck of a road trip, and it would only be horribly inconvenient for everyone but me! Big Grin

Well ... if we're going to make arguments for our respective locations, NJ would be a perfect venue ... what's more Italian than the birthplace of the Sopranos? And it happens to be the midpoint between our friends up north and our southern cousins. Smile

Not necessarily true (today for me Toronto direct = $1,232 vs. Pisa direct = $1,187) but I get your point. I will probably do both since I have already planned business around the Montalcino off-line.

Non-stop flights with Air Canada departing June 11, returning June 14 from Richmond --> Toronto for $429USD all in. Check Expedia. Razz

You get Star Alliance points too in case you were looking at United flights.

Not that it's going to be the date or anything, but flying within North America is cheaper than transatlantic generally speaking.

Can I hire you as my travel agent? I looked at our corp. travel site (which is supposed to be the BEST deal) and looked at the next weekend to get my pricing. Should have known you would check me. Wink

Do you need any other arrangements taken care of? My cut is 10%. Razz

Did I get the frequent flyer points right, or should it have been Delta?

I think if Toronto is to be venue(Montreal would be my first choice due to no-corkage and many more BYOB restaurants), I think a couple members of the MWP could possibly attend.

What, ONLY 10%. What a bargain.

No, you were correct with the Star Alliance. Wish they flew direct into Pisa like Delta.

Another vote for Montreal over Toronto (wife speaks French). But, as I've never been, either would be fine.

OK, people, pick some dates. Obviously JC and I will try to make it, depending on when it is!

Waiting for futronic to get his teaching schedule. Since he suggested a Canadian offline, he's got point on this thing. We should have some date options in a week or so.

Hopefully my teaching schedule will be finalized in the next week.

If possible, I'd like to schedule it on a weekend that I'm not teaching so I can entertain anyone coming into town early if desired.

Tentatively, how does June 6 or June 13 look? Those are my preferred dates at this point and things look clear for me.

Fut,

Looking through the activity list for June in Toronto, the weekend of the 13th is better since Luminato, North by Northeast Music and Film, and the Waterfront Blues Festival are all happening. Just a consideration.
